The globular cluster M22 is particularly interesting for an abundance study because Hesser et al. (1977) have presented evidence that the metal abundance of individual stars is not uniform throughout the cluster. A second reason for observing M22 is the fact that its red giants are rather cool for its metallicity. In connection with the present investigation spectra were obtained of six stars in M22. The six stars selected together with their magnitudes and solar indices are listed in a table, while a journal of the spectroscopic data is presented in another table. It is found that the ratios of several elements relative to iron is not solar. The metal abundances depend sensitively on effective temperature which can best be determined from the color indices. Effective temperatures are derived on the basis of both B-V and the V-K colors corrected for reddening.
