Techniques are presented for studying the surface distribution of dark clouds to examine the galaxies NGC 253, NGC 2841, NGC 5321, NGC 5194, and NGC 5195 radially and angularly. It is seen that the surface distribution of dark clouds along the major and minor axes, and the angular and radial distribution of dark clouds tend to confirm the ring structure through the appearance of some maxima in the different representations.
