Astrophysical implications of a new scale of accurate oscillator
strengths obtained for Eu II are discussed. A new value of the solar
photospheric abundance of Europium is derived: A(Eu) equals 0.51 plus or
minus 0.08, in the usual logarithmic scale. Some stellar implications of
the new gf-values are also presented.
