Accurate new measurements of transition probabilities are presented for two line multiplets of the neutral calcium spectrum which are often used in solar abundance analyses. Both multiplets have the same lower term situated at 1.9 eV above the ground state. The measurements were made on a relative scale using the technique of furnace absorption with photoelectric photometry and placed on an absolute scale by reference to recent lifetime determinations. A critical comparison is made with the results of other workers and the relationship between the new absolute values and those used in recent solar abundance analyses is discussed.
