Absolute dimensions are derived for U Ophiuchi through a combination of new spectroscopic data and extant multicolor light curves. A true light ratio of 1.5 + or - 0.2 is obtained, together with a secondary spectral type of B5V. Solution of the lightcurve data show that the mean primary and secondary T(eff) are 16,900 + or - 1500 K and 16,000 + or - 1500 K, respectively. All light curve solutions show the hotter, more massive star to be the more luminous one, as indicated by Popper (1978). Placement of the star's components on theoretical HR diagrams indicates a system age of 63 million years.
