Mars was observed from the Volgograd observatory from July 29, 1988 to January 5, 1989 with the 10-cm meniscus telescope and the 11-cm refractor. In addition, additional observations of the Martian surface were made with the 40-cm Zeiss refractor of the Abastumani Astrophysical Observatory. The observations indicate the absence of a global dust storm on Mars during this period.
