Three items are focused: (i) A hierarchy of control factors on climate: physical, chemical, biological, anthropic. The anthropic factor has been one of the leading agents during the last several tens thousand years. The biosphere is, together with the endogenous energy, the most important prime agent for the transformation of the Earth’s crust. The physical and chemical factors are mechanisms suitable for describing phenomena. (ii) “External way” and “internal way” in solar-terrestrial relations. The internal way easily explains the most relevant climatic anomalies during the last two millennia. (iii) Multidisciplinarity. Climate is a boundary phenomenon. The present conventional separation into disciplines of Earth’s sciences makes nonsense. Largely interdisciplinary approaches (including humanistic disciplines) are strictly needed. The perspective is the study of Galaxy Sun Earth relations. The Earth’s climate is mostly, though not exclusively, affected by the endogenous energy (naturally modulated in several different ways), plus by the strong anthropic bias.
