I present new results of an optical analysis of the galaxy cluster Abell 521. From a dynamical analysis, made with new optical data obtained with MOS at ESO on the 3.6 m telescope with EFOSC2, the cluster shows a main structure, with a high value of velocity dispersion, and two subgroups at lower and higher radial velocities with respect to the main one. These results seem to confirm that A521 is a clutser in a very particular dynamical state: it might be a very young cluster still forming at the intersection of two filaments.
