Nova LMC 1995, detected as a luminous supersoft X-ray source in 1995-1998 with ROSAT, was observed again in December of 2000 with XMM-Newton. It was still a supersoft X-ray source at almost-Eddington luminosity, and the effective temperature had increased to about 450,000 K. We discuss atmospheric models studied for the hot hydrogen burning white dwarf, and whether this nova may be a type Ia supernova progenitor.
