Wind-type solutions are discussed for the generation of astrophysical jets from active galactic nuclei and stellar sources such as those associated with SS433 and protostellar objects. Acceleration, collimation, and morphology are consistently interpreted in terms of a flow starting from the galactic or stellar core inside the "throat" of a thick accretion disk.
