Radio continuum observations of the quasar B2 1419+315 at high angular resolution made with the VLA and MERLIN, spectroscopic observations made at McDonald Observatory, and a CCD image of the field obtained at the Jacobus Kapteyn Telescope are presented. The spectra confirm the object to be a quasar at a redshift of 1.547 + or - 0.005. The source has an extreme C-shaped radio structure with a curved jet towards the eastern component. It is perhaps the most striking example of a quasar with a wide-angle tail. The CCD image shows several foreground galaxies with one of them close to the center of curvature of the radio jet and bridge. Although the radio structure is suggestive of interaction with a dense intracluster medium, the CCD image raises the interesting possibility of gravitational lensing by a foreground galaxy. Both possibilities are examined in this paper.
