Simulated cosmic density fields are sampled with 3D wavelets at a hierarchy of spatial scales. Statistics of these samples, as estimated by histograms of wavelet coupling strengths, illustrate general evolutionary properties of large-scale structure in self-gravitating systems. The sampling statistics for a simple class of 3D Haar wavelets are compared with predictions from several models of clustered mass distributions. The variation of histogram profiles with the scale of the wavelets is seen to depend on cosmological parameters such as the assumed nature of matter in the universe. A wavelet analysis of this type may be used to compare simulations with observed large-scale structure to test the viability of cosmological models.
