We present a tool developed to cross-correlate 2XMM sources with various other catalogues. Archival data are collected using VO protocols. The cross-correlation algorithm is based on a likelihood ratio (LR) technique. It takes into account local densities and estimates the expected number of spurious associations as a function of LR without resorting to Monte Carlo simulations. Groups of similar XMM fields of view are stacked to increase statistics and provide better fits to reliability functions. These informations are used to enrich qualified links between X-ray sources and possible counterparts in archival catalogues held in the XCAT-DB, one of the Survey Science Center interface to the 2XMM catalogue. These identification probabilities will be later used to develop and to automate a classification process.
