To better understand galaxy evolution at high redshifts, we present a candidate sample of z 3 galaxies assembled using the Lyman-break technique from one 35.5'x35.5' field in the Extended Groth Strip, which is at a high galactic latitude in the constellation Bootes. We use a method of photometric preselection known as the dropout technique (Steidel et. al 1996), in which we categorize our sources using rest-UV colors observed at visible wavelengths. We use U-g' and g'-R colors (Steidel et. al 2003) to identify the candidate Lyman-break galaxies at a high selection efficiency. At z 3, we identify 351 candidates undetected in U and 560 candidates detected in U. We plan to confirm our Lyman-break galaxy candidates with spectroscopic follow-up in the near future.
