The complex of gas and dust LMC N214 is a remarkable site of massive star formation. In particular, its main component, N214C, hosts a very rare massive star (Sk -71°51) belonging to a particular class with only a dozen known members in the whole sky. Using the ESO New Technology telescope (NTT), we revise the spectral type of the massive star to O2 V, a very early type. We show also that this star is in fact a cluster of at least 5 components packed in an area ˜ 3''. Moreover, we discover a striking compact blob of ionized gas in the outer northern part of N214C, which harbors a very massive nascent star.
