A method for integrating the Newtonian gravitational equations of motion for an arbitrary number of point particles is presented, which provide explicit control on the maximum error in the acceleration of each particle due to each force term. Empirical analyses of the methods performance are given. An explicit relation between the input parameters and the level of errors in the calculated forces is developed. The advantages of the method include the speed of the static force calculation, the ability to treat large spatial and temporal ranges, and favorable scalings of the total computational expense to perform astrophysical problems.
