The Planck scale structure of space-time is investigated with the use of
the prime manifolds S^3, T^3 and S^1 times S^2. A supersymmetric
structure is derived based on a lattice of three-tori with handles,
which reproduces the symmetry groups of the standard model. Within this
framework the place of general relativity is discussed.
