A time-dependent method and a practical differentiating scheme are proposed for obtaining the transonic, trans-Alfvenic solution for the background solar wind with the formation of a heliospheric current sheet. The projected-characteristic boundary conditions in spherical coordinates is successfully used at the inner and outer boundaries. A closed magnetic field is shown to be drawn outside by the expanding solar wind to gradually change into the quasi-helmet type. The simulation results also indicate possible distributions of the dynamic and magnetic parameters over the solar meridian.
