It is known from numerical results that the modulus of the eigenvalues of nonradial oscillations is an increasing function of the degree of the mode for a given order. This result has previously been verified by other authors for asymptotic modes. A rigorous demonstration of this point is given here for nonasymptotic modes in the framework of Cowling's approximation.
