A synchronous rapid variation of polarization angle was observed in OJ 287 in the optical and radio regions during February 3-12, 1986, although the radio variation preceded the optical one by 20-50 deg. The polarization angle varied by 120 deg over 7-days and 80 deg over 5-days in the optical and radio regions, respectively. This is the first case that a correlated variation of polarization properties has been observed in the optical and microwave regions on a time-scale of days. The present observations strongly suggest that the rapid variations of polarization angles seen in both wavelength regions, have been caused by a common mechanism, and hence, the optical and radio emitting regions are physically related. Two kinds of interpretation based on relativistic beaming are possible, depending whether or not the amount of variations in polarization angles exceed 180 deg.
