Several sequences of nonlinearly pulsating models of RR Lyrae stars with purely radiative envelopes have been computed in order to study the modal selection properties of these variables. (1) Models with chemical compositions of X = 0.7, Z = 0.001 and masses lower than ≡0.7 M_sun; show the well-known sequence of pulsational states and bifurcations. (2) Models with the same chemical compositions but with masses greater than ≡0.7 M_sun; cross the 2ω0 = ω3 resonance center and show variations similar to the Bump Cepheids. The fundamental limit cycle of these models is destabilized near the resonance center, and persistent multimode pulsations result in some models. (3) Models with masses between 0.4 and 0.5 M_sun;, chemical compositions of X = 0.8, Z = 0.001, and which lie close to the blue edge may also show persistent double-mode pulsations of a nonresonant type at small amplitude.
