Results are presented for an extensive survey of the 6-cm formaldehyde absorption in the northern cloud L1641. The results indicate two main condensations of molecules having masses of about 1 and 2 times 10 to the 4th solar masses. They are probably collapsing. A comparison with a CO survey of the same region shows poor detailed agreement, although the HCHO column density would appear to be related to the extinction. Better extinction measurements are planned in order to investigate this relationship, since it may be that formaldehyde is a better tracer of molecular hydrogen density than CO.
