Medium-dispersion spectra of stars in the globular clusters NGC 5139, 6397, 6656, and 6752 are used to derive relatively detailed information about the atmospheric element abundances in globular-cluster stars. Synthetic spectra are computed and compared for model atmospheres resembling those of the cluster stars, and the heavy-element abundances determined for the four clusters are presented. The results obtained indicate that: (1) NGC 6397 is probably the most metal-poor of the four clusters; (2) NGC 6397 and 6752 provide no strong evidence for abundance variations among heavy elements; (3) NGC 6656 shows strong signs of s-process element enrichment in two of its three long-period variables; and (4) one star in NGC 5139 appears to be substantially more metal-poor than two others. It is also found that the stars on the upper giant branch of NGC 5139 exhibit evolutionary effects in their atmospheres and that one star in the same cluster appears to have mild C and N enhancements.
