The distribution of probabilities calculated by Arp (1981) for the causal association of galaxies and quasars in a surveyed section of sky is considered. It is asserted that the computed probabilities were calculated without including the nonpaired galaxies in that section of sky, and that a systematic error was included in the calculations, i.e., a too small value for the density of quasars. It is asserted that the histogram of probabilities developed by Arp does not account for probabilities larger than one, which is possible when the angular separation exceeds a certain value. It is suggested that the error can be explored in terms of the presence of a gravitational lens, and work in this direction is indicated.
