A new method of adjusting the main optical system of 50 cm Vacuum Solar Spectral Telescope (VSST), which was studied and produced by both Yunnan Observatory and Nanjing Astronomical Instrument Research Center (NAIRC), is proposed. The method is summarized during the period of testing and adjusting the main optical system of VSST. An obvious advantage of the method is that people can adjust and test the main optical system without disassembling the telescope and using special instrument for optical correction.
