For 17 sources with Class II interstellar methanol masers, their continua of compact H II regions as well as the associated infrared and Lyman radiations from newly forming stars are presented. We have examined the possible excitation mechanism for the methanol masers. The results show that the infrared objects with brightness temperature of 100 K and photon rate of about 10 exp 53/s associated with compact H II regions can reasonably be supposed to be excitation sources for the Class II interstellar methanol masers.
