Weighted oscillator strengths for four transition arrays for Fe I are calculated. A selection of normalized values is listed and compared with experimental values. Cancellation factors are tabulated and the effects of cancellation are considered. The computer program which was used in the calculations and involved the optimization of Slater parameters, is discussed. Configuration interactions were taken into account between seven even and four odd configurations. It is found that the computed Fe I data were systematically high and required normalization by a factor of 0.63.
