In this work we present the rotational velocity for a sample of 65 metal-poor field evolved stars. Such velocities were estimated by direct comparison between synthetic and observed spectra. The rotational velocities were calibrated with the FWHM of the Fe I l4484 spectral line. The calibration reproduces with excellent precision the rotational velocities from spectral synthesis. We observe a significant fraction of metal-poor evolved stars presenting enhanced rotational velocity and argue about the possible causes of this phenomenon, with emphasis in the absorption of planet. In addition the present data seem to point for a discontinuity in the distribution of rotational velocity as a function of effective temperature, following the same feature now well established at the Blue Horizontal Branch of globular clusters.
