The measured forbidden O I 5577 A nightglow intensities and Es layer
heights are analyzed by comparing the time spectra and disturbances
against the mean values. Propagation rates of 1-6 km/hr (in the upward
direction) and 2-5 km/hr (in the downward direction) are obtained for
dynamic disturbances in the lower thermosphere.
