Stromgren uvby observations of the young irregular variable UX Ori, obtained with the 50-cm Danish telescope at ESO during the period 1982-1988 and described in detail by Manfroid et al. (1990), are analyzed. The light and color curves for two typical periods are presented and shown to exhibit similar patterns; i.e., there is a clear tendency to become fainter and redder simultaneously. The color-magnitude diagram shows distinct red and blue branches, each of which can be further divided into two parts. The observations are found to be generally consistent with the model of Grinin (1988) and Voshchinnikov et al. (1988), in which opaque dust clouds embedded in the dust envelope rotate in Keplerian orbits around the star. Thermal reemission from a dust shell with concentrations at heights of 1.4 and 64 AU and temperatures 1500 and 320 K, respectively, accounts for the observed IR excess.
