Three blue stragglers, i.e., 40 Cancri in Praesepe, HD 162374 in M 7 and 68 Tauri in the Hyades Cluster were studied. For none of them were radial velocity variations found, indicating that a binary nature is unlikely. It is suggested - from colors, temperatures and gravities as well as from evolutionary considerations - that 40 Cancri and possibly HD 162374 are population I blue horizontal branch stars and that 68 Tau is a star with hydrogen shell burning just beginning.
