An attempt is made to examine some aspects of pearl pulsations recorded at Choutuppal (geomagnetic latitude = 7 deg 28 min N) during 1967-1975. The midperiod (t) of pearls is found to bear a linear relation to the pearl repetition period (T) and is of the form T = 70t + 11.2. The periods of pearls are shown to be influenced by the average level of magnetic activity prevailing during the preceding few days rather than by that existing on the day of pearl occurrence. An increase in the medium frequency of pearls was found after the occurrence of a magnetic disturbance, particularly one that lasted several days. Results on pearl pulsations are correlated with plasmasphere phenomena.
