Reappraisal of old optical spectrograms and photometry of the close binary Wolf-Rayet (WR) star, CQ Cephei, was combined with optical and infrared photometry and high and low resolution data from IUE. Data suggest that the companion to the WN7 star is at least partially immersed in the WR wind. However, the nature of the companion is not positively established.
