A study of the problem about the fake signals derived from spectrum analysis on unevenly sampled data is presented. It concludes that fake signals will appear when using Lomb spectrum analysis of quasi-multi-period sampling data from VLBI experiments. An experiential formula to identify the fake peaks and a statistical proving are given. By this formula can identify the positions of fake signals. And it can also discuss how to use this formula in spectrum analysis. Although the conclusion is based on the VLBI data spectrum analysis, it can be used widely as well.
