We have selected eighty-eight 16 square degree fields from the APS Catalog of the POSS I for a comprehensive survey of galactic structure via star counts on relatively large spatial scales. These fields give a total coverage of over 1400 square degrees. The fields are selected at intervals of 45 degrees in galactic longitude and every 10 degrees in latitude for |b| > 20 degrees. For several of these fields we show sample color histograms and luminosity functions. In this poster we present a statistical overview of the properties of this dataset including limiting magnitudes, completeness limits, and variations in the color distributions and reddening.
