We show that the number of galaxies with ultraviolet excess in the Kiso catalog decreases rapidly as the inclincation of the galaxy to the line of sight increases. This effect is observed in spiral galaxies of both type Sk and type Sp. Moreover spiral galaxies that are steeply inclined to the line of sight are on the average weaker than galaxies viewed face-on. Due to internal absorption the distribution of UV-excess galaxies over the intensity classes L, M, and H is also distorted.
