The nearest neighbor test was applied in a statistical analysis of the association of quasars and bright galaxies. It is shown that radio quasars are associated with bright galaxies, with mutual separations of less than about 60 arcmin. Large redshift (z greater than 2.0) quasars show a clearer association with bright galaxies than the small redshift quasars. This association shows that the distribution of quasars is not random and suggests that there is a clustering tendency in the large-scale distribution of matter in the universe.
