The authors have carried out a statistical analysis of 6761 quasars in
the 1993 catalog of Hewitt and Burbidge. The redshifts of emission lines
range from 0 to 4.9. The result of the analysis shows that 46% of the
absorbing material in average is associated with the absorption quasars
themselves.
