The results of the ideal state MHD equations presently solved indicate two kinds of relationships between variables and distance from the equator in the plasma sheet. One relationship is a hyperbolic function, while the other is a trigonometric function. Observations appear to agree more closely with the hyperbolic function, and simple distribution formulas for pressure, density, temperature, magnetic field and current density in the plasma sheet are deduced. Expressions are given for the relationship between variables and radial distance generally, as well as for the cases of adiabatic and isothermal processes. Attention is also given to the influence of the magnetic anomally on the outer magnetosphere.
