A static conformally flat spherically symmetric perfect-fluid cosmological model of the universe is presented. The model is based on the modification of Riemannian geometry proposed by Lyra (1951). It is observed that the situation in this case is similar (apart from a difference of sign) to that discussed by Kalyanshetti and Waghmode (1983) in the Einstein-Cartan theory, with the displacement vector ph(i) of Lyra's manifold playing the role of the spin density.
