Triassic volcanism in the Pyrenees and along the Messejana Dyke consists of dolerites of tholeiitic affinity which were erupted during the early stages of Atlantic rifting. Fourteen samples have been analyzed for Nd and Sr isotopes and have a range in ɛNd = -1.7 to 2.3 and ɛSr = 15 to 46. These data together with major and trace elements show little composition variations and suggest the derivation of the dolerites from a formerly enriched subcontinental lithospheric mantle in conjunction with a mild crustal contamination.
