Infrared IRAC and MIPS maps of the Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC) were obtained as part of the Surveying the Agents of Galaxy Evolution (SAGE-SMC) Spitzer cycle 4 Legacy Program. IRAC 3.6, 4.5, 5.8, and 8 micron and MIPS 24 micron bands are ideal for studying circumstellar dust. We present an overview of dust-forming evolved stars in the SMC, including an analysis of the colors, mass loss rates, circumstellar dust compositions, and distribution of carbon-rich, oxygen-rich, and extreme Asymptotic Giant Branch (AGB) stars. We also compare the AGB stars in the SMC bar, wing, and tail populations. Metallicity is an important parameter that affects stellar evolution, but the effect that metallicity has on dust production and mass loss in AGB stars is still uncertain. To study its effect, we compare the AGB stars in the SMC to those in the LMC and other Local Group dwarf galaxies.
