Using IRAC (InfraRed Array Camera) on the Spitzer Space Telescope, the GLIMPSE Legacy team has prepared a point source catalog containing ˜ 30 million sources in a 220 square degree region of the inner Galaxy ( 10 < |l| < 65o and |b| < 10o). We have examined the distribution of sources as a function of direction in the Galaxy and find some directions with significantly enhanced numbers of sources detected in all four IRAC bands (3.6, 4.5, 5.8, and 8.0 microns). Some of these features are in the approximate directions of spiral arm tangencies as traced by the interstellar medium, but are offset by a few degrees. We characterize these stellar enhancements and discuss their implications for our understanding of Galactic spiral structure in both the stellar and interstellar component.
