We describe the first results from a spectroscopic survey of 3100 galaxies, wherein we determine the spectroscopic types of the galaxies as a function of local density and intrinsic luminosity. The galaxies are drawn from the CfA 15R Redshift Survey. The spectroscopic survey covers over 500 square degrees on the sky, and is 90% complete to 15.4 in R. Each galaxy has at least one spectrum taken with the FAST spectrograph on the FLWO Tillinghast 1.5m Telescope. All spectra cover 3600---7400 Angstroms with 6 Angstroms resolution and S/N ~ 10. The median redshift is 0.046; all spectra include rest wavelength 6563 Angstroms (H_alpha ) except the three highest-redshift objects at z ~ 0.15. Roughly half of the spectra have measurable emission lines. We have identified star-forming galaxies from H_alpha and [OII], AGNs from emission line ratios, and post-starburst candidates from cross-correlation with A-star templates.
