Some spectrophotometric and radial velocity measurements of the Be star EM Cep, a member of the open cluster NGC 7160, are presented. From this limited survey, it is established that EM Cep is not a short-period binary system as was previously supposed but may be a non-radial pulsator. The possibility that EM Cep is a long-period binary system cannot be ruled out.
