The model atmosphere method is used to determine the metallicity of 17 Cepheids of type I population on the basis of results of spectroscopic observations with the main stellar spectrograph of the 6-m telescope. Systematic errors of the metallicity associated with the temperature determination method are revealed. On the basis of data for Cepheids contributed by Luck and Lambert (1981) and Harris and Pilachowski (1984), the metallicity gradient in the Galactic disk is estimated at 0.06/kps.
