We report phase-resolved spectrophotometry of the 15 m novalike variable WX Ari which covers the regions around H-beta and H-gamma with about 3 A FWHM resolution and around H-alpha with about 9 A resolution. A secure spectroscopic orbital period of 0.13934(6) d (= 3.34 h) was derived. The system has spectroscopic properties, such as variable emission-line profiles with phase-dependent absorption events, which suggest that it belongs to the subclass of SW Sex stars, although we have no evidence of eclipses.
