We have embarked on a spectroscopic program to monitor and discover "classical" A-type shell stars. These are late-B, A and early F-type stars which show Fe II and Ti II lines similar in strength to A-type bright giants or supergiants, but their hydrogen lines indicate giant or even dwarf luminosities. Well known members of the class include 17 Leporis and HD 195325. We are particularly interested in stars which exhibit static shells. We will present preliminary results for this program, including our strategy for discovering new A-type shell stars.
