Radial velocities of 16 Lacertae are derived from 169 coudé spectrograms obtained at the Haute-Provence Observatory on eleven nights in 1976 and 1977. A frequency analysis of these data is performed and the velocity curve, corrected for orbital motion, is compared with concurrent light variations. The quarter-period phase lag is confirmed. The long-term changes of the pulsation amplitudes, discovered recently from photometric observations, are seen also in the radial velocities. The Van Hoof effect, if present at all, is small and variable. Some line intensity variations are observed. On the basis of the present and older measurements a new orbital solution is computed.
