A method is proposed for evaluating, on the basis of hydrogen and helium radio recombination line observations, the ratio of stellar quanta capable of ionizing helium to those capable of ionizing hydrogen. The effective temperature and other stellar parameters are determined via a comparison of this ratio with model stellar atmospheres. In addition to the standard Zanstra method, the present method not only allows the total number of the Ly-c quanta to be determined but also yields data about the spectrum slope in this wavelength range, which is not directly observable but is especially important for O-B stars.
